The schools were closed for summer break and Cian's father decided to take Cian to his cousin's ranch for the vacations. But who knew that this one vacation would change Cian's life! Cian a first grade student was everybody's favourite at home as well at school.
Situated far away from the city the ranch was beautiful. But what caught Cian's attention the most was neither it's beauty nor the fresh green environment but all the horses at the ranch. He was awed by what he saw there. All horses differed in sizes and colors. Some had a brown skin while some had black. They all had long tails and a long flexible neck. Cian was attracted to their big black eyes.
That one week at the ranch had a lasting impact on Cian's mind. After getting back home, he again started researching about horses. He took great interest in everything related to horses. Mr. Thompson, a veterinarian by profession, stayed just two blocks away from Cian's place. Cian started visiting him during his free time and they both would discuss facts about horses for hours and hours together. Not only that, as soon as the school re-opened, Cian joined the horse riding club.
Cian had dreams where he would be surrounded by horses, he painted pictures of horses running and even when his teacher asked him to write sentenceshe wrote about horses. He could go on and on talking and discussing about horses and never got tired.
In the beginning Cian's parents thought of his interest as a mere hobby and believed as he would grow up, he himself would move on, and forget about this hobby. But nothing like this happened. As Cian grew older, his interest in horses grew even more. He started playing polo and won many championships as well. He used to be thrilled, everytime he rode on a horse. But being the bright child that he was, Cian never compromised with his studies. He gave sufficient time to his studies and always topped the exams. That was probably the only reason why his parents didn't object about his passion for horses.
When Cian decided to take up polo as a career, his parents were apprehensive about the idea. They were completely against taking up sports as a career. Unsuccessful in convincing his parents, Cian had to join the university where he did his masters in business administration. But Cian never gave up his hope. Along with his studies, Cian took proper high level training in polo and played many championships.
His final exams were approaching and everyone knew that this time also Cian would do well. Impresses by his performance throughout the year, Cian's teachers also believed that he should focus on making his mark in the business world rather than wasting time on horses. But Cian had already decided what he had to do. That was all he wanted and wished for.
Soon the exams were over and everyone was waiting for the result. While the others were busy deciding about their future, Cian was preparing for his first national championship. It was Cian's convocation ceremony when Cian played his first match for the nation.
As expected Cian won the championship. Now he had a masters degree in business administration as his parents wanted, and he has also achieved what he wanted. Cian was the new face of polo.
Since then, there has been no looking back. That little boy at the ranch has now become a national level polo champion. Cian now has planned to own a ranch after he retires, where he could have all breeds of horses.
